In the Middle of Wanting
While enjoying all the spoils of living as an accomplished, no-nonsense, single black woman in Chicago, Eleanor Bergen has—through no cognition of her own—been forced to explore the reality that there's more to life. The trauma of one mistake many years ago has kept her mercifully seeking redemption from all of the wrong sources, and until she finds it, she is content living a life void of wants and desires. But as life has a way of doing, what she thinks she wants is being sidelined by what she needs. Despite casting them away into that mystic chamber of dreams deferred, all of the things that she once desired as an optimistic twenty-something are coming into fruition.
